釀酒人17日將旅美投手王維中放入指定讓渡名單中，清出40人名單空位，迎來同樣遭太空人讓渡的三壘手多明格茲(Matt Dominquez)。
為了清出位置給多明格茲，王維中被移出40人名單，遭球隊指定讓渡(DFA)，這代表他接下來10天將面臨三個選項：接受球團安排下放小聯盟、進行交易或著釋出。我國旅美第一人陳金鋒當時就遭道奇指定讓渡，選擇離隊，返台效力中職La New熊隊。
王維中去年因規則5選秀，直接從新人聯盟跳級挑戰大聯盟，但僅留下後援14場，防禦率10.90的成績；今年從高A出發，本季12場出賽皆為先發，戰績4勝2敗，主投60.2局失掉40分自責分，防禦率5.93，另外有45次三振23次四壞保送。
儘管遭到讓渡，但釀酒人總教練康賽爾(Craig Counsell)強調：「我們沒有理由放棄王維中，他還有機會挑戰大聯盟。雖然還沒在大聯盟層級成功，但他只有23歲，有很棒的投球條件，需要多益對照托福慢慢培養。投手的培養是比較困難的，但我們並沒有放棄他。」
從太空人「撿來」的多明格茲，曾是馬林魚2007年第一輪第12指名的潛力新秀，大聯盟資歷4年，留下2成33/2成75/3成74的打擊三圍，本季從3A出發。
